CELLAR GAS DETECTION: DO YOU NEED IT?

Posted by Dawn Beever on 2nd Oct 2018

In the hospitality industry; pubs, restaurants and clubs, bar cellars are probably the most confined of spaces and the highest risk of death in these confined areas come from the silent killer – carbon dioxide (CO2) gas.

If gas from CO2 cylinders leaks into your cellar, the gas, which is heavier than air, can build up in pools over a period of time. Long term exposure to as little 0.5% volume CO2 represents a toxic health hazard. Concentrations greater than 15% volume can lead to death. Anyone going down into the cellar is then at risk of asphyxiation.

Our Solution

Fit the Analox AX60+ or Analox AX60K+ for Kiosks from Point Safety, which have been specifically designed to warn personnel of a CO2 leak or to the depletion of oxygen (if the O2 option is chosen).

The Analox AX60+ detects for CO2 or 02 and can come as a quick connect version or hard wired. It also comes with a quick start guide for help with installation and setup, it comes as standard with 1 x central unit, 1 x sensor and 1 x alarm. You can have up to 4 x sensors and 8 x alarms fitted to one central display (a maximum of 4 alarms per sensor). The central display is very useful as it makes the unit more user friendly and configurable. You can change alarm set points and you get two relays as standard (not available on the AX60K+). The Analox AX60+ is installed within the cellar and has a remote indicator which is placed outside the room which emits an audible and visual alarm when toxic levels have been reached. For more information please watch our Youtube video explaining all about the AX60+.

The Analox AX60K+ comes with one sensor and one alarm, you can add a further 3 alarms (4 in total if required).

We can offer an installation and commissioning service anywhere in the mainland UK, along with a service contract to ensure your gas detection system continues to protect you and your staff.
